Crafted Design Objects
VICARA is a portuguese design brand which, since 2011, edits exclusive collections of products for the home. Throughout the years we have been presenting coherent collections, exploring the richness of the crafts and manufacturing community in central Portugal. Tasco Tableware, our terracotta collection is now an independent brand, with a growing worldwide presence.
If in the past years we have been presenting our products in the main trade fairs in Europe the brand, we are now more focused on proximity and projects within our network, of clients and manufacturers.
We work as a design and cultural agency, working with cultural institutions, companies and other brands.
The studio and store is located in a local neighborhood. Here you will find our showroom, office and warehouse.

Designing through crafts
We are used to getting things done with our hands, so naturally the way the brand has been living is through enhancing our product's materiality.
This craft way of thinking allow us to build a more realistic and conscious approach in design practice: working fully connected with the artisans, designers and crafts institutions.
Our respect for the materials is celebrated by the occasional launch of unique and collectible pieces through collaborations with our designers and makers our manufacturing industries.
We love to explore a specific material culture, whether by exploring new possibilities or innovating the process.
Crafted locally, spreaded globally
As our mission is to work with designers and makers by promoting and selling their products, either through our client network, online-shop or distribution agents, we are focused on exporting for larger markets, where we can reach more people.
Even though our products maintain hand made characteristics, we are capable of distributing reasonable quantities with high quality standards.
